The word Himachal Pradesh literary means a “state in the laps of the Himalayas”. Sprawled across an area of 21,495m2, it is bordered by the state of Jammu and Kashmir (north), Punjab (west & south-west), Haryana & Uttarakhand (south-east) and Tibet (east). Named by Acharya Diwakar Datt Sharma, a great Sanskrit bookman of the state, Himachal Pradesh got recognition as a state in the year 1971 after the State of Himachal Pradesh Act. Adorned with captivating crystal-clear water lakes & rivers, scented & colorful flowers valleys, pious shrines and ancient temples, warm-welcoming people and the most charming aura, Himachal Pradesh is a total charm in itself that attracts travelers and tourists each year.
The state is enclosed by the famous Dhauladhar & Pir Panjal ranges (northwest), Himalayas (north & east) and Shivalik ranges (south-east). The history of the existence of Himachal Pradesh dates back between 2250 and 1750 BCE, when the Indus valley civilization was flourishing. Koilis, Dhaugris, Halis, Dasa, Dagis, Kirats, Khasas and Kinnars were some of the tribes that inhabited Himachal Pradesh ever since the pre-historic era. The state comprises 12 districts namely Kangra, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Una, Mandi, Lahaul & Spiti, Chamba, Solan, Sirmaur, Kinnaur, Shimla and Kullu. The beautiful hill station of Shimla, also an erstwhile summer retreat is the capital of Himachal Pradesh.

DHAULADHAR CIRCUIT: The tourist circuit that makes its way through the Dhauladhar ranges is named after the same and is a lifetime experience for the onlookers. Overlooking the Kangra valley, home to long spread meadows, famous temples, lush green tea gardens and unrivalled beauty, the Dhauladhar circuit has a charm of its own.
Delhi - Chintpurni - Jwalamukhi - Kangra - Dalhousie - Khajjiar - Chamba - Dharamsala - Chamunda - Palampur - Jogindernagar - Delhi.
SATLUJ CIRCUIT: The Sutlej Circuit got its name from the famous Sutlej River that flows through the snowy Himalayas, pine, deodar & oak fringed forests, orchards and foot hills of the Shivalik.
Delhi - Parwanoo - Kasaul i- Barog - Solan - Chail - Hatkoti - Rampur - Sarahan - Narkanda - Naldehra - Tattapani - Shimla - Kiarighat - Delhi. This circuit also comprises Renuka, Nahan and Paonta Sahib.
BEAS CIRCUIT: The Beas Circuit got its name from the River Beas. It passes across the regions of Kullu – Mandi and the main highlights here are the long spread meadows, fields of paddy & maize, apple orchards and the gushing Beas River.

TRIBAL CIRCUIT: The tribal circuit takes travelers across the bewitching River Valleys terrains, chilling Desert Mountains, Passes at high altitudes, snowy mountains, Mighty Glaciers, snow-fed rivers, monasteries, lamas etc.
